Are there still salmonella-linked Kinder chocolates in UAE?

  DUBAI – The Abu Dhabi market is free of suspected salmonella-linked Kinder chocolates, according to the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority on Saturday (April 9). According to the authority, Kinder has also withdrawn the suspect products in European countries as a precautionary measure. At least 134 cases of salmonella linked to a chocolate produced from a Belgium factory were reported in Europe. In Abu Dhabi, authorities issued an order to withdraw suspected batches from the market. The local producer confirmed that all Kinder products in Abu Dhabi are safe. The authority also checked shipments of Kinder products entering Abu Dhabi and confirmed that no suspected batches arrived in the local market. The Abu Dhabi food authority said it is taking all measures to prevent “improper and unhealthy products” from entering the emirate’s markets. In Dubai, the Dubai Municipality confirmed that there are no contaminated Kinder Surprise chocolate eggs in the market, and that the product has been recalled as a precautionary measure.
