Jobless woman sued for getting salary for 12 months

DUBAI – A woman has been sued by her former company in Abu Dhabi after she continued to receive her salary for 12 months despite being fired from her job. The Abu Dhabi Court for Family and Civil Administrative Claims ordered her to pay back the full amount of Dh52,415 to the company after she refused to return the money. According to the company, an administrative error from its human resources department caused the woman to continue getting her salary from September 2020 to September 2021. The woman was fired from her job in July 2020 after she failed to pass the medical fitness test. Her former employer asked her to return the money she mistakenly received in her account in the last 12 months, but she refused, forcing them to file a lawsuit against her. ICA/Expat Media
