Dubai Police on horseback arrest 3 burglars after Rashidiya chase
After a chase on horseback, Dubai Police arrested a three-member gang of burglars prowling through the Rashidiya area. Captain Youssef Muhammad Al Mulla and First Lieutenant Ahmad Rashid Al Kaabi of Dubai Mounted Police spotted the trio in a car that was moving very slowly in the area, which drew their suspicion. When the officers ran a check on the vehicle, the car description and plate number did not match the data in the traffic system, so they decided to stop the car. Instead of stopping, however, the trio sped off in their car, giving the officers a chase. The officers alerted the police command center for backup from other police patrols. Following a chase, the Asian men were eventually arrested. Officers also seized four vehicle plate number, tools for burglary and 29 bottles of alcohol in their possession. Major General Muhammad Issa Al Adhb, director of Dubai Mounted Police, said that during interrogation, the men admitted they planned to break into several houses. Officers of Dubai Mounted Police patrol the streets from 6pm to 6am. The department has more than 130 horses and 75 riders.
