Promoting unlicensed medical products in UAE a crime, warns Public Prosecution

DUBAI – Promoting medical products that are not licensed in the UAE is a crime, according to the UAE Public Prosecution in a fresh warning. Under the UAE federal law, a violator is anyone who “creates, manages, or supervises a website or publishes information on the world wide web, or by any means of information technology for the promotion or sale of medical products that are unlicensed in the UAE”. Violators are also those who promote imitation or fake medical products online. According to the Public Prosecution, violators will be sentenced to detention and a fine, or one of these two penalties. The UAE has a very strict federal law on Combating Rumors and E-Crimes.
