Emirates warns of Dh10,000 competition scam

  Emirates airline has warned UAE residents about a scam using the company’s identity to dupe people into participating in a fake competition offering a Dh10,000 cash prize. According to Emirates, it did not launch such a competition. “This is not an official competition, and we advise caution,” according to Emirates in a statement. The Dubai-based airline said it will only publish authorized content on its official channels, including on its verified social media accounts. This is not the first time that scammers have targeted big companies to trick people into participating in scam offers. Recently, the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority also issued a warning to users against social media posts offering fake cash giveaways of Dh10,000 to those who answer its online survey.
