Abu Dhabi Police reminds parents about dangers of firecrackers to their children

Abu Dhabi Police reminded parents to ensure their children’s safety by not using or buying firecrackers during the upcoming Eid Al Fitr holiday. UAE bans firecrackers without special provisions, subjecting those involved in the selling and manufacturing to a jail term minimum of one year and a minimum fine of Dh100,000. Despite the emirate ban on explosives, children and individuals can still be victims of firecrackers sold by illegal sources and online platforms. Parents are encouraged to observe their children’s activities during the holiday and to educate them about the dangers of firecrackers. The firecracker ban in the country served as the solution to the dangers brought by explosives such as critical or permanent injuries, massive fires, and other related fatalities. The public is urged to report individuals or stores selling firecrackers to the Abu Dhabi Police through their number 999 or 800 2626. KSO/Expat Media
