5 most in-demand jobs in UAE revealed

  DUBAI – Despite a shift in the job market due to the pandemic, the UAE has seen a rise in job categories in response to changing consumer needs, according to a new LinkedIn report. In its Jobs on the Rise report, LinkedIn revealed the top five most in-demand jobs in the country. Here's where hiring trends are high in the UAE job market:

1. Medical professionals

Hiring for doctors, registered nurses, pharmacists and general practitioners will continue to remain high as the world battles the Covid-19 pandemic. According to LinkedIn, 41 percent of those hired had specialist skills and hold a Master’s Degree.

2. Digital content freelancers

With remote work the new normal during the pandemic, a lot of new jobs in online content creation cropped up in the UAE. According to LinkedIn, job openings more than doubled for digital content creators with skills in blogging, social media marketing, vlogging and video creation and podcasting.

3. Healthcare support staff

Jobs providing support for healthcare front liners also continue to be in demand, including lab assistants and support staff for PRC resting, Covid-19 treatments, vaccine trials, microbiology, laboratories, clinical research, hematology and infection control.

4. E-Commerce specialists

Virtual shopping experienced a spike in the UAE, opening up more jobs for e-commerce specialists and coordinators with skills in digital marketing and search engine optimization.

5. Digital marketing specialists

According to LinkedIn, jobs in digital marketing experienced a growth of 71 percent last year, and will continue to remain in demand in 2021. The job market is open to content strategists, market researchers, influencer marketing specialists and Google Ads specialists. ICA/Expat Media
