What to expect in the Overseas Elections Vote for Filipinos in the UAE

The overseas voting for Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in the UAE will start on April 10. UAE ranked the highest number of OFW voters for the upcoming Philippine elections with over 290,182 registered voters. The Embassy of the Philippines in the UAE is expecting a lot of voters hence they are advising voters to avoid voting at the last minute given the limited capacity of the voting venue.

When are the dates for voting?

The voting will start on April 10 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The POLO precincts will be accommodating voters from April 11 to May 8 from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. only, meanwhile, on the last day of voting on May 9, voters will be able to vote from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

How many machines will be available?

There are a total of 5 automated machines for use in the Embassy and POLO precincts. Voters must expect some waiting time because of this.

Who is eligible for voting?

Only registered voters in Abu Dhabi can vote at the Embassy and voters are advised to check their names on the list through the Abu Dhabi Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) website. JMS/Expat Media
