Thousands of new hirings expected in Philippine job fairs

More than 11,300 jobs await jobseekers at DOLE’s Kalayaan 2016 job fairs in Central Luzon

  MANILA - Some 11,373 jobs await jobseekers in this year’s Kalayaan 2016 Job Fairs in Central Luzon, Regional Director Ana Dione of Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Regional Office 3 said on Thursday (June 9). “A total of 5,955 jobs for local employment will be available during the job fair, courtesy of 142 participating private companies and 30 government agencies,” Dione said, adding they are also expecting about 5,388 job vacancies for overseas employment from 28 recruitment agencies. The job fair will be held in in all DOLE regional offices, where job vacancies and other labor and employment services will be available to jobseekers. Available jobs Job vacancies for local employment include production engineering associates, production 0perators, customer/technical support representatives, sales representatives, call center agents, welders, sewers, medical transcriptionists, sales clerks, office clerks, machine operators, and service workers. Overseas employment vacancies, on the other hand, include production workers, engineers, architects, administrative assistants, cooks, waiters, waitresses, construction workers, and plumbers. Nueva Ecija job fair A pre-independence day job fair will be held on June 10 at the Old Capitol Compound, Burgos St., Cabanatuan City in Nueva Ecija. June 12 job fairs Meanwhile, the job fairs on June 12 will be held at the Malolos Sports and Convention Center, Malolos City, Bulacan; Liwasang Bayan, San Felipe, Zambales; and Baler Municipal Hall, Baler, Aurora. Source: POEA Come prepared DOLE Regional Director Dione urged jobseekers to be fully prepared and take opportunity in applying for jobs. “Our region-wide job fairs in Central Luzon is our major activity in line with the country’s commemoration of the 118th Independence Day celebration. We want to make it easy and convenient for our jobseekers as they find jobs during the fairs,” Dione said. She also reminded the job applicants to come prepared with proper attire and bring with them multiple copies of their resumes, certificates of employment, transcript of records, clearance, photos, and other pertinent pre-employment documents needed by employers. DOLE-Technical Support and Services Division for Employment and Welfare Chief Alejandro Inza Cruz said that jobseekers may pre-register before June 12. “To save time for jobseekers, they may now start filling-up their Skills Registration System Forms to pre-register to the PhilJobnet web.
