Husband dies of grief due to wife's death in Texas shooting
The husband of one of the two teachers who were killed during the Texas elementary school shooting has died from a heart attack, according to a family member on Thursday (May 26). The teacher Irma Garcia along with her co-teacher Eva Mireles were killed for trying to protect their students during the Texas shooting massacre. Irma’s husband Joe "has tragically passed away this morning (5/26/2022) as a result of a medical emergency," according to Irma’s cousin Debra Austin. John Martinez, a nephew of Joe tweeted about his uncle’s death on his Twitter account.“Please pray for our family, God have mercy on us, this ain’t easy,” he tweeted. Irma Garcia was Joe’s high school sweetheart and wife of 24 years. Joe died after returning home from delivering flowers to a memorial for his wife. The couple leaves behind four children, with the oldest at 23 and the others teenagers. Aside from the two teachers, the dead victims of the shooting at the Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas also include 19 children.
