Health ministry says UAE healthcare system is ‘prepared’ for monkeypox

The healthcare system in the United Arab Emirates is prepared for the spread of monkeypox, according to the country's Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP). The ministry is also looking into and monitoring suspected instances, but no cases have been confirmed in the UAE yet. According to the official WAM news agency, it issued a circular to all medical staff in the country, ordering them to report any suspected cases to the authorities. The World Health Organization (WHO) reported that more than 80 cases have been found in recent days, with another 50 probable cases being monitored. Fever and pains are common symptoms, and the condition is commonly accompanied by a characteristic rash. BKM/ Expat Media
