Dead Filipina found inside a suitcase in Dubai

A Filipino woman was found dead inside a suitcase under the Palm Island bridge in Deira, Dubai, authorities said on Wednesday (April 6). Annalisa R.L., 32, was strangled to death with a piece of cloth by her Pakistani boyfriend, identified by his initials M.N.A., after a heated argument about money. The suspect was in a relationship with the Filipino for four months and she lived with him in his apartment throughout the period. The boyfriend confessed to the murder, explaining that the victim wanted to borrow Dh600 from him to renew her visit visa. He refused to lend her money, which led to a physically-heated argument where the victim fell on the floor and M.N.A. used a piece of cloth to strangle her. He shoved her dead body inside the suitcase and was dragging it outside for 40 minutes until he reached the bridge and dumped the suitcase there while thinking no one would find it. The suitcase and the body were first found on March 6 by a security guard who immediately informed his boss and then the police. Officers of Dubai Police's Criminal Investigation Department were able to track the boyfriend who was the primary suspect of the murder and arrested him in his apartment in Hor Al Anz. The case is currently in Public Prosecution. KSO/Expat Media
