Prince William visits Jebel Ali Port in Dubai

DUBAI – Britain’s Prince William marked his trip to Dubai by visiting the Jebel Ali Port to see what partners in the region are doing to combat illegal wildlife trade. Jebel Ali Port is owned by DP World, the Principal Partner of The Royal Foundation’s United for Wildlife, of which Prince William is the founder. During his visit to Jebel Ali on Thursday (February 10), Prince William was given a port tour to see the scale of operations at the Middle East’s largest port. Prince William was also shown a live demonstration of cargo being unloaded from ships; learning about how new technology can identify trafficked wildlife items. The illegal wildlife trade is among the five most lucrative global crimes and is often run by highly organised criminal networks. ICA/Expat Media
