Indian boy reunites with dad in Dubai after family dispute kept them apart for months

A five-year-old Indian boy and his father were reunited in Dubai after a family dispute kept them apart for ten months, according to Dubai Police. The reunion was facilitated by Dubai Police, who also helped the boy’s parents settle their marital conflict amicably. The boy’s father, Shad Hussein, thanked Dubai Police for helping reunite him with his son. Brigadier Dr. Tariq Muhammad Noor Tahlak, Director of Naif Police Station, said the boy’s mother flew him to Dubai after some marital conflict with Hussein in India. The mother and son lived in her parents’ home in Dubai. “The mother refused to let her son speak or communicate with his father, who was financially unable to get a UAE visit visa to come and see his child," Brig. Tahlak said. Brig. Tahlak said that after ten months, the father was able to afford a trip to the UAE, and sought the help of his father-in-law to see his son. Unable to change his daughter’s mind about allowing her estranged husband to see their son, the woman’s father decided to seek Dubai Police’s assistance to settle the matter amicably. Dubai Police contacted the mother and persuaded her to allow the father to see his son. “We reminded her that the UAE's federal law on children's rights, aka Wadeema law, obliges both parents to respect the full rights of their children," he said.
