Apple stores in Dubai to remain closed until Thursday

DUBAI – Apple stores in Dubai will remain closed until Thursday (January 13) as part of precautionary measures against the spread of Covid-19. The stores in Dubai Mall and Mall of the Emirates were closed as “caution for everyone’s health and well-being”, according to Apple in a statement. Apple’s store in Abu Dhabi’s Yas Mall remains open. Around the world, Apple has closed many of its stores in recent weeks as the highly contagious Omicron variant caused Covid-19 cases to surge. In the UAE, the emirates recorded its highest daily number of Covid-19 cases in ten months, with 2,759 new cases on Sunday. Also on Sunday, Emirates airline closed its onboard lounges and social areas on its A380 aircraft due to the surge in Covid-19 cases. “In light of health and safety considerations, Emirates has temporarily modified some aspects of our onboard service. Our onboard lounge and the social area will not be available to customers at this time,” an Emirates spokesperson said in a statement. ICA/Expat Media
